Hygiene First
Always wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before touching your healing brows. Make sure to clean under your nails as well. Touching your brows with unclean hands can lead to infection.
First 24 Hours
Gently blot the treated area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Blot occasionally throughout the day until the oozing stops.
Days 2 Through 10: Cleanse and Moisturize
Washing (Morning and Night)
Gently cleanse your brows each morning and evening using lukewarm water and an antibacterial soap such as Dial or Cetaphil. Use your fingertips to lightly rub the soap and water into your brows. Avoid cleansers that contain acids like glycolic, lactic, or AHA, and avoid exfoliating products because they can strip the pigment. Pat the area dry with a clean tissue and do not rub.
Moisturizing (Morning and Night)
Make sure your brows are completely dry before applying ointment. Use a rice sized amount of aftercare ointment and apply it gently with a clean cotton swab. The ointment should be barely visible on the skin. Using too much can slow healing.
Important Healing Notes
Let scabs and dry skin flake off naturally. Do not pick or peel. Do not apply makeup to the brows until they are fully healed, which is usually around day 14. During healing, avoid sweating and exercise, direct sun exposure, swimming in pools, hot tubs, oceans, or lakes, saunas and steam rooms, facials, Botox, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for six weeks, and gardening or close contact with animals near your face.
After Healing
Once your brows are fully healed, apply a broad spectrum sunscreen daily to protect them and slow pigment fading. Avoid long term use of skincare products that contain acids or exfoliants on or near your brows. If you have any questions during healing, contact Saint Brow for guidance. Your results depend on good aftercare. Thank you for trusting us with your brows.
