What to Expect During the Healing Process of Ombré Powder Brows

What to Expect During the Healing Process of Ombré Powder Brows
Ombré powder brow healing process.

How Long Does Healing Take?

The full healing process for powder brows takes about six weeks. During this time, your skin goes through normal healing stages such as peeling, fading, and then settling.

Once your brows are healed, they will look about thirty to forty percent lighter than they did right after your appointment. This is normal and is what gives powder brows their soft, makeup like look.

Healing Timeline

Days 1 and 2
Right after your appointment, your brows will look darker and more sharply shaped. This is normal because fresh pigment always looks stronger before the skin starts healing.

Days 3 Through 7
Your brows may start to feel dry and may form light scabs or flakes. It is very important not to scratch, rub, or pick at them because this can pull pigment out of the skin and affect the final color.

Days 8 Through 14
Your brows may look lighter or uneven. This is called the ghosting phase and it is normal. The pigment is still under the skin and has not fully settled yet.

Weeks 3 Through 6
As your skin continues to heal, the color will slowly come back and soften into its final shade. By the end of week six, you will be able to see how your brows will truly look.

What Happens After Six Weeks?

At six weeks, your brows are fully healed. This is the best time to check the shape, color, and fullness. If you want any changes, a touch up appointment can be scheduled to perfect your results.
